No full-fledged street fights, no Russian troops in central Bakhmut – Nazarenko

Volodymyr Nazarenko, lieutenant, deputy commander of the Svoboda (Freedom) battalion (4th National Guard operations brigade) shared the update on Espreso TV

"The situation is extreme. Hearing a lot of news and rumors. The Russians are trying to spread panic among the AFU. We are not going to surrender – on the contrary, we fortify our defense. The enemy is not present in parts that can be called a city. They fight on the outskirts, on routes leading to the city, in private sectors, etc. We are not talking about full-fledged street battles. We are not talking about battles in an urban setting," he said.

• On February 3, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy assured that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not leave Bakhmut.
