No doubt that nuclear weapons will be in Belarus – oppositionist Latushko

Opposition politician Pavel Latushko, deputy head of the Joint Transitional Cabinet of Belarus, believes that Lukashenko has signed the relevant documents long time ago

He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.

"Lukashenko has always had a desire to have nuclear weapons in Belarus, which he started talking about in the 90s. Lukashenko considers it a political mistake for the first leadership of independent Belarus to have decided to abandon the presence of Soviet nuclear weapons on Belarusian territory. In addition, we know that 7-8 months ago, officers of the Belarusian missile forces traveled to Russia to nuclear weapons storage facilities to study the experience of storage, logistics, transportation and delivery of tactical nuclear weapons to the territory of Belarus," said the Deputy Head of the Joint Transitional Cabinet of Belarus.

Pavel Latushko noted that Su-25 aircraft capable of carrying nuclear warheads have already been prepared.

"It is also a fact that the pilots have actually undergone training, not as they say they will continue to train. This is more likely a game to put information pressure on the West. I have no doubt that Lukashenko has long since signed the relevant plans and documents. I also have no doubt that nuclear weapons will be on the territory of Belarus," Latushko emphasized.
