Zaporizhzhia under heavy shelling: six injured, one in serious condition in Russia's October 7 attack
On October 7, there were 392 Russian strikes on the settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region
Oleksandr Kovalenko, a spokesman for the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, said this on Espreso TV.
"In the morning, guided aerial bombs struck the outskirts of Zaporizhzhia, hitting one of the infrastructure facilities. Unfortunately, six people were injured: five men and one woman who works there. One man is in serious condition in the hospital," he reported.
Kovalenko noted that throughout the day, Russia launched nine airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia and several nearby settlements closer to the frontline.
"We recorded 225 attacks by drones. Since mid-summer, this type of weapon has been the most common in Russian strikes on the Zaporizhzhia region. The Russians also launched 145 artillery attacks, and there were 16 reports of damage or destruction to homes and infrastructure,” he added.
The toughest period for Zaporizhzhia was from September 22 to October 1, when more than 100 civilians suffered, according to Kovalenko.
"With brief pauses, Russia shelled us with guided bombs almost every day, causing great suffering and significant destruction. Over 100 civilians suffered, and two were killed. More than 150 high-rise buildings were damaged, along with over 500 houses in the private sector. Two high-rise buildings were partially destroyed, and five houses were completely destroyed. Dozens of cars, garages, cafes, and offices were also damaged," said the spokesman for the military administration.
