Ukrainian athlete Mykhailo Kokhan reached the final in the hammer throw at the Olympic Games in Paris

Mykhailo Kokhan made a backward throw during his first attempt and was unable to immediately meet the qualification standard of 77 metres. In the second attempt, the Ukrainian sent the hammer 77.42m and was the first to qualify for the final.

Kohan is a bronze medallist at the 2024 European Championships. This season, only the reigning world champion Ethan Katzberg from Canada (84.38m) and European champion Wojciech Nowicki from Poland (80.95m) have thrown further than the Ukrainian.

Ukraine's performance at the 2024 Olympics

The Ukrainian national team won two medals at the Olympic Games in Paris.

On July 29, saber fencer Olha Harlan won the first award for Ukraine's team, taking bronze.

On August 1, Serhiy Kulish won silver in the 50m rifle 3 position shooting, bringing Ukraine its second medal of the 2024 Games.
