Russia’s drone kills Freedom TV journalist and cameraman in Kramatorsk
Freedom TV journalist Olena Hubanova and cameraman Yevhen Karmazin were killed in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, by a strike from a Russian Lancet drone
The head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, reported the information.
Filashkin said that from the first days of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Olena and Yevhen covered the situation in the region, reporting about Russia's war crimes, the evacuation of civilians, and the stories of Ukrainian defenders.
“They worked in the hottest spots of Donetsk, always being first on the scene. It’s hard to believe this happened to them… This is a heavy loss for the region and for all of us. Bright, compassionate, fair, and honest — Olena and Yevhen will forever remain in our memory this way… My sincere condolences to their families, loved ones, and colleagues,” added Vadym Filashkin.

Zelenskyy: This is Russia's deliberate strategy to silence independent voices
"My condolences to the relatives, loved ones, and colleagues of the deceased. Their courage in covering the truth about Russian aggression against Ukraine will never be forgotten. I also wish a speedy recovery to the wounded correspondent and strength to his loved ones," he wrote.
The president also recalled that French photojournalist Antoine Lallican was previously killed in the Donetsk region, and his Ukrainian colleague Heorhii Ivanchenko was injured.
"These are not accidents or mistakes, but a deliberate strategy of Russia aimed at silencing all independent voices that tell the world about Russia's war crimes in Ukraine," Zelenskyy emphasized.
- On Friday, October 3, near Druzhkivka in Donetsk region, French photojournalist Antoni Lallican was killed in an FPV drone attack, while Kyiv Independent photo correspondent Hryhorii Ivanchenko was wounded.
