Investigation into loss of Ocheretyne is needed - Information Resistance
Oleksandr Kovalenko, a military and political observer with the Information Resistance group, emphasizes that Ocheretyne had to hold the line for a long time
He said this on Espreso.
"The Lyman-Kupyansk axis has been a priority for the Russian command for more than a year, but they are unable to implement more extensive actions. For example, Synkivka, which is the entrance gate to Kupyansk, has been holding the line for over a year. It is a small village that cannot be captured by the Russians. By the way, a comparison with Ocheretyne may be indicative. Ocheretyne was also supposed to hold the line for months under the attack of Russian forces, but for some reason it came under Russian control in a few days," Kovalenko said.
According to the military and political observer of the Information Resistance group, it is necessary to conduct an appropriate investigation at the level of not only the General Staff, but also the competent services regarding the loss of Ocheretyne.
"We will wait for the result and punishment of those responsible. Because Ocheretyne is a settlement that is the main outpost on the 05-11 route to Pokrovsk. Why was it left without adequate defense and protection so quickly, and why did it fall under the control of the invading Russian forces so quickly? It seems that someone is professionally unfit from the command of the relevant brigade. But the main thing is the result of the investigation," Kovalenko added.
- On the evening of April 27, 2024, the spokesman for the Khortytsia unit Nazar Voloshyn confirmed the loss of control over a "part" of the village of Ocheretyne, Pokrovsk district, Donetsk region.
- The Russians are rushing to capture as much of Donetsk region as possible, while the Ukrainian army is short of ammunition and aid is still on the way.
