EU’s Borrell, Ukraine's Kuleba push for unrestricted use of Western weapons against Russia
In Brussels, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba met with the EU top diplomat Josep Borrell to push for lifting restrictions on using Western weapons against Russia

Borrell announced this on X.
He mentioned that in his meeting with Kuleba, they talked about military support and the need to lift restrictions on using weapons against Russian military targets in line with international law.
“We also exchanged on the diplomatic track and Ukraine’s peace formula,” Josep Borrell wrote.
Following Russia's August 26 massive attack on Ukraine, Borrell said that Ukrainians need to strengthen their air defense.
"I reiterate that lifting restrictions on the use of capabilities against vs the Russian military involved in aggression against Ukraine, in accordance with international law, would strengthen Ukrainian self-defence, safe lives and reduce destruction in Ukraine," Borrell emphasized.
- On August 26, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a press conference after a massive Russian attack. According to him, Russia launched 127 missiles of various types and 109 drones at the territory of Ukraine.
