Ukraine has Western weapons for strikes against Russia — Latvian Foreign Minister Braže
Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže said that Ukraine has already received Western weapons from some partners with permission to strike at Russian territory
She said this in an interview with European Pravda.
Braže noted that Ukraine's partners provide weapons with a warning not to use them for strikes outside the country. However, according to the head of the Latvian Foreign Ministry, this approach can change, and this process has begun.
"There are already countries that have already provided Ukraine with weapons without such restrictions," she said.
Braže clarified that these cases have not yet been publicly discussed.
"Of course, not everything is announced publicly, and it is even better not to say it out loud until a certain time. The main thing is the impact on the battlefield. Because there is a choice here: either to speak out loudly about something or just to do what is necessary," the minister explained.
At the same time, the Latvian foreign minister is convinced that if there are facilities from which Russia is attacking Ukraine, Ukraine can retaliate if these facilities are located on Russian territory. Braže emphasized that international law allows such use of weapons.
- On April 26, Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže, who took office last week, visited Kyiv. At a meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, they discussed a number of strategic topics, including Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO, sanctions against Russia, and the joint production of UAVs.
