Newly mobilized Russian military may arrive in Luhansk region in February
Sergiy Haidai, head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, doesn't rule out a major offensive: more Russian mobilized soldiers are expected to arrive in February
The head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration wrote about this on Telegram.
Thus, Serhiy Haidai assured that the situation at the front is stable: the Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding the line in Bilohorivka, and there is a slight advance in the Svatove-Kreminna direction. The Defense Forces cannot advance quickly: the area is too densely mined.
More Russian mobilized soldiers are expected to arrive in the Luhansk region in February.
“The Luhansk front line is overflowing with the bodies of Russian soldiers, mostly the Wagner PMC mercenaries, whom Russia considers to be cannon fodder. The enemy is reinforcing Kreminna with regular military personnel while waiting for the freshly mobilized, but this does not change the situation,” the statement says.
Later, the head of the Regional Military Administration told the telethon journalists that the prospect of a new major offensive by Russian troops could not be ruled out:
“Anything can happen, because this is a war with a huge enemy. Still, 140 million is a powerful reserve force. Yes, these are unprofessional soldiers, but there are still a lot of them. The biggest problem today is that there are so many of them. The enemy does not have such a bright tactic or strategy. They are simply overwhelming our positions with bodies and numbers, and are slowly advancing,” he said.
