The Wall Street Journal reported the information.
Moscow and Tehran are planning to build a plant in Russia that could produce at least 6,000 Iranian drones. The outlet emphasizes that this is the latest sign of deepening cooperation between the 2 countries.
According to officials, as part of the military alliance, a high-ranking Iranian delegation flew to Russia in early January to visit the planned site for the plant and agree on details to launch the project.
Representatives of Moscow and Tehran inspected an empty site in the city of Yelabuga, located in the Republic of Tatarstan. The countries plan to build a plant there that will be able to produce thousands of drones in the coming years.
Officials said that both countries are seeking to create a faster drone that could pose new challenges to Ukraine's air defense.
