Ministry of Defense does see the possibility of a new offensive by Russian troops on Kyiv

This was announced at briefing by Defense Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Motuzyanyk.

"Resumption of the occupiers' offensive," he said, "will depend on the outcome of fighting in Donetsk and Luhansk regions."

Motuzyanyk added that separate enemy units still present in Gomel region in Belarus, as well as in Bryansk and Kursk regions of Russian Federation. Obviously their task is to demonstrate presence to distract Ukrainian defense forces.

"Obviously, this is such a tactical game of Russian Federation to keep units of Ukrainian army here and prevent them from being transferred to more difficult operational zones, in particular to the east and south of Ukraine," said a spokesman of Ukrainian Defense Ministry.
