NATO сhief urges not to let Russia seize initiative on battlefield
In the run up to the 9th meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defense, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has urged to not allow Russia to seize the initiative on the battlefield
According to the Guardian, Stoltenberg made the statement on February 13 in Brussels, in the run up to the next meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defense in the Ramstein format.
"NATO stands with Ukraine for as long as it takes. Vladimir Putin is not preparing for peace. He is launching new offensives," Stoltenberg said.
He added that the allies are currently engaged in a "a race of logistics" with Russia.
"Key capabilities like ammunition and spare parts must reach Ukraine before Russia can seize the initiative on the battlefield. Speed will save lives. The faster Kyiv can be supplied with weapons, ammunition and spare parts, fuel, the more lives can be saved," the NATO Secretary General emphasized.
