Most chances to liberate left bank of Kherson region are from Zaporizhzhia direction - Roman Kostenko
Colonel of the Ukrainian Security Service and MP Roman Kostenko noted that there will be more chances to liberate the left bank of the Kherson region from the Zaporizhzhia direction than by forcing the Dnipro river
He told Glavkom publication about this.
He noted that the storming of the Dnipro is possible, but this is a complex process that requires a lot of effort and money since the river is quite wide. Kostenko believes that it will be easier to liberate the left bank of the Kherson region from the Zaporizhzhia direction. In his opinion, now the Armed Forces of Ukraine should move towards Enerhodar and Melitopol.
"Now our main task should be to move in the Zaporizhzhia direction, towards Enerhodar, Melitopol. Russia, unfortunately, also understands this, but this is the only chance to cut its logistics routes and their grouping. Also, the key task is to deter Russian forces in the Donetsk direction," explains Kostenko.
He also noted that the liberation of the Kherson region will depend on the situation in the east of the country.
"We cannot talk about one left bank without taking into account the events in the East, where Russian forces are now concentrating troops, in the area of Avdiivka, Bakhmut, in order to push through our defenses. During fulfilling the maximum program, we have secured the South for the medium and long term, built up the defense along the Dnipro river and released most of our troops, which were redeployed to other areas," says the Colonel of the Ukrainian Security Service.
