Moscow seriously weighing possibility of attacking NATO countries, diplomat warns
Ukrainian politician and diplomat Roman Bezsmertnyi said in an interview with Espreso that Washington has been increasingly talking about possibly stepping back from its guarantees of Europe's strategic security
He made this comment on Espreso TV.
"A troop grouping is being formed on the territory of Belarus and in nearby regions of the Russian Federation. The statements made by the President of Ukraine reflect the actual situation. These units — based on their training level, composition, and logistics — are being aimed toward the Baltic region. Most likely, this is the strike force that, under certain conditions, will be used against the Baltic states and Poland," the diplomat said.
He added that this is also backed up by official statements from Pyongyang and Moscow about openly cooperating on personnel. That process ended with the ratification of a strategic partnership agreement, and as we know, both Pyongyang and Moscow officially announced that North Korea is siding with Russia in this war. In light of that, there should be a clear response from Washington, showing that Ukraine is its top partner — because today, Ukraine is helping to contain North Korea’s potential by fighting DPRK troops on the Russian-Ukrainian front.
"As for the political side, it’s now clear that the things Medvedev — the deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council — keeps repeating over and over show that Moscow is seriously considering an attack on NATO countries. And by the way, Washington has been more openly saying that it won’t spend money on Europe’s defense anymore — that U.S. debt is too big, and they might even pull out of strategic security guarantees for Europe. The Kremlin hears all of this — that’s exactly why they’re preparing, including on the staging ground called Belarus. But I want to stress again — Ukraine cannot afford to look away from the northern direction," Bezsmertnyi said.
