Moscow authorities report four downed drones, damaged houses and cars
On the night of August 22, Moscow experienced another drone attack. The authorities have reported that four drones were shot down by the air defense systems. There are houses and cars that have been damaged due to the attack
Russian media reports this.
Local telegram channels also mentioned the attack in Krasnogorsk and Strogino. They posted pictures and videos showing the debris from the alleged drone crashes, along with damaged cars and parts of buildings.
All the airports in the city region were temporarily closed. The suspension lasted for around two hours.
Later, the mayor of Moscow, Sergey Sobyanin, stated that the anti-aircraft defense shot down two drones:
"Air defense took down two attack drones. One in the Krasnogorsk district and the other in the Chastsy district."
However, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that four drones were brought down, which they claim were launched by the "Kyiv regime": two in Bryansk and two in the Moscow region:
"Two unmanned aerial vehicles were detected by air defense systems and neutralized by electronic warfare systems, crashing in the Bryansk region. Two UAVs were detected and eliminated by air defense systems over the Moscow region. No one was harmed."
The SHOT Telegram channel stated that in Krasnogorsk, a drone fell near a government building in the Moscow region. The fall resulted in damage to the façade of a tall building and about ten cars in the parking area.
Andriy Vorobyov, the governor of the Moscow region, explained the aftermath of the drone crash in Krasnogorsk: "The impact from the fall caused windows to break in a tall building and cars were damaged. No residents were hurt and there was no fire."
