More than 250 Belarusian troops to take part in Russian military exercise
A Belarusian military contingent of over 250 soldiers will participate in the East-2022 strategic command and staff exercises, which are due to take place in Russia.
This was reported in the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry.
It is planned to involve more than 250 Belarusian Armed Forces servicemen of one of the mechanized brigades of the Western operational command to the exercises.
According to the Belarusian Defense Ministry, the practical actions of the exercises will take place at 13 training grounds of the Eastern Military District in the period from August 30 to September 5.
Army General Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, has been appointed as the head of the exercise.
Russian military exercises East-2022 will be the first after the start of a full-scale war with Ukraine. The previous ones took place on February 19 under the authority of Vladimir Putin and in the presence of Alexander Lukashenko.
