More than 15% of Bradley combat vehicles damaged or destroyed in Ukraine war
More than 15% of the US Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, which the United States has delivered to Ukraine, were damaged or destroyed during the war with the Russian army
The New York Times reported about this, citing sources.
"The fierce resistance has taken a toll on Ukraine’s weaponry. The United States committed 113 Bradley fighting vehicles in March. At least 17 of them — more than 15 percent — have been damaged or destroyed in the fighting so far, the official said," the newspaper reports.
In Washington, officials in the Biden administration have publicly called for patience, although they are privately concerned that initial progress has been slow, the media outlet said.
One senior Biden administration official spoke to reporters and described the results of the first two weeks of the counteroffensive as "sobering," adding, "They are behind schedule."
At the same time, another senior US military official acknowledged the slower-than-expected pace of the operation, but added that this was not unexpected given Russia's strong defences and warned against drawing any broad conclusions from the initial operations.
