More than 100 wounded Ukrainian soldiers and 2-3 thousand civilians are being treated in Poland
As of today, more than 100 servicemen and approximately 2–3 thousand civilians from Ukraine are being treated in Polish hospitals.
Adam Niedzielski, head of Poland's Ministry of Health, stated this, Ukrinform reports.
According to him, "to date, more than 100 wounded Ukrainian servicemen have been transported by special trains to Poland. In addition, Ukrainian military personnel arrive for rehabilitation in the Republic of Poland by other modes of transport.
Niedzielski emphasized that Poland cooperates with the Ukrainian Ministry of Health and is trying to organize the transportation of victims as soon as there is a need.
He noted that civilian patients from Ukraine who suffer from Russia's armed aggression and those who need treatment for serious diseases also come to Poland.
"As of today, the number of civilian patients from Ukraine in Polish hospitals is estimated at 2-3 thousand," the Polish minister emphasized.
At the same time, he noted that Poland can accommodate several thousand patients from Ukraine.
"Therefore, there is a considerable room for assistance," the minister stated.
Niedzielski said that Warsaw provides significant assistance to Kyiv in the matter of medical aid. It is not only about the treatment of military and civilian patients in Poland but also about the transfer of aid—medical equipment, generators, medicines, medical supplies.
"This aid has a complex nature, and it continues all the time," the head of the Ministry of Health of Poland said.
In addition, Poland assists Kyiv in reforming the medical industry in the context of Ukraine's European integration.
He noted that the first of five training tours for Ukrainian medics, who will master knowledge of aeromedical evacuation, has started in Poland. According to him, the creation of the aviation rescue service in Ukraine is a process that will last for many years. As a result, Poland wishes to be a partner of Ukraine in the implementation of medical reforms as part of Ukraine's integration into the EU, particularly in this area.
