Morawiecki: Poland is ready to provide Ukraine with MiG-29 fighters as part of coalition

He made the statement at the Munich Security Conference, RMF reports.

"Today we can discuss the transfer of our MiG-29s as part of a broader coalition, and we are ready for that. We also inspire others to do so," Morawiecki said.

He noted that the topic of delivering these fighters to Ukraine is being widely discussed. The Polish prime minister emphasized Poland's clear position, which envisages its participation in a broader coalition.

"This does not apply to our most modern fighters, which we still lack," he emphasized.

Morawiecki quoted Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko as saying that during the latest missile attack, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down almost 100% of the missiles launched by Russia. He emphasized that this is a very good result.

"But, of course, this applies to Kyiv and some parts of Ukraine. In turn, we see that near Lviv, these missiles are reaching their target. This means that we must try to balance Russia's air superiority, that is, to help Ukraine defend itself in the air," the Polish prime minister said.

• On February 18, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that his country is considering the delivery of its MiG-29s to Ukraine and will join the coalition to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets, if it is formed.
