Montenegro declares Russian diplomat persona non grata

This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro.

It is reported that the activities of the Russian diplomat contradict Article 9 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

According to the first part of this article, the receiving state can at any time declare a member of the diplomatic staff of the mission as persona non grata without the obligation to give reasons for its decision.

Russian ambassador Vladyslav Maslenikov was informed about this decision on August 12. The diplomat must leave Montenegro within seven days.
