Modular town opens in Irpen for 352 residents who lost homes in Russian attacks

352 residents of Irpen, who were left homeless due to Russian aggression, will receive cozy and comfortable temporary housing in their hometown.

This was announced by the mayor of Irpen, Oleksandr Makrushin.

"Today, together with the Polish Ambassador to Ukraine Bartosz Cihotski, the Ukrainian Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Chernyshov, the head of Kyiv region Oleksiy Kuleba, the head of Irpen Investrad Volodymyr Karpluk, we launched the modular town of Dubky into full operation. We received the modular constructions free of charge from the Government of Poland for agreements with the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine. A lot of people contributed to the arrangement of landscaping and the creation of a comfortable and cozy space for our residents of Irpin, in particular, our communal services, which performed the lion's share of the work, and benefactors, to whom I am very, very grateful," - written by Oleksandr Makrushin.

It is noted that the modular town "Dubky" consists of 88 four-person residential modules. 55 of them are already occupied.

"The families of our doctors, educators, and military personnel who were left without a home settled in them. There is also a library, a small gym, a children's playroom, a recreation room, and a washing and ironing area on the territory of the town. By the way, the residents of "Dubki" will not have to cook themselves, because the World Central Kitchen team will prepare delicious hot meals for them. For which I am also sincerely grateful to them!", Makrushin added.

The mayor also noted that government officials have already started work on the construction of another similar modular town on the territory of the "Dubki" sanatorium.
