Why Russia is doubling down on Avdiivka direction: Analysis by military expert Popovych

Military observer Denys Popovych says that Russia continues to bolster its forces in the Avdiivka direction, hoping to find vulnerabilities in the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defense lines

Popovych shared his opinions with Espreso TV.

"The Russians are relentless in their attempts to advance in the Avdiivka direction. They're regrouping and deploying new reserves to sustain offensives. They perceive the Ukrainian army's weakest defense along this front. There’s no tactical pause. Contrary to belief, the occupiers haven't eased their pressure on our positions post-Avdiivka capture."

Popovych's emphasized on the guided aerial bomb usage.

"In addition, occupiers are actively deploying aircraft in the Avdiivka direction. This shows their intent to continue using guided aerial bombs, crucial for them in asserting air superiority. Essentially, it is guided aerial bombs that played a pivotal role in Avdiivka's capture, making our units withdraw," he said.
