the Ukrainian General Staff reported the information.
The destruction of the Nebo-M radar station is said to have significantly weakened the Russian army's ability to detect, track, and intercept both aerodynamic and ballistic targets.
The military explained that the Nebo-M radar is notoriously difficult to destroy due to its stealth mode, which allows it to scan the horizon for airborne objects undetected.
According to the General Staff, Russia now has only 10 operational Nebo-M systems remaining, with each system valued at over $100 million.
“The destruction of the Nebo-M radar will create a favorable 'air corridor' for the effective use of Storm Shadow and SCALP-EG cruise missiles,” the military added.
- In August 2024, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed a modern Russian Kasta-2E2 radar station in the Zaporizhzhia region.
