Ukrainian Armed Forces repel 31 attacks in Avdiivka direction, strike 9 Russian troop concentrations

This is stated in the evening report of the General Staff for May 2.

Russia launched 2 missile and 58 air strikes, and 89 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements.

Frontline update and attacks on Ukrainian territory

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. It conducted air strikes near 5 settlements. Over 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 9 attacks near Synkivka, Novoyehorivka, Kyslivka, Berestove in the Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 12 attacks near Hrekivka, Nevske and Serebryanka forestry in the Luhansk region; Terny, Yampolivka and Torske in the Donetsk region. About 10 settlements suffered from artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 19 attacks near 8 settlements across Luhansk and Donetsk regions, where Russian troops unsuccessfully tried to improve their tactical position. Russian troops launched an air strike near a settlement in the Donetsk region. Over 10 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders thwarted 31 attacks near 8 settlements. Russian troops launched air strikes near 4 settlements in the Donetsk region. More than 20 settlements were subjected to Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian troops keep holding back the Russian army near 2 settlements in the Donetsk region. Despite 13 attempts, Russian forces, supported by aviation, were unable to alter the tactical situation. They also carried out air strikes near the settlement of Vodiane in the Donetsk region. Russian artillery and mortar fire targeted over 10 settlements.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian troops launched 1 unsuccessful attack near Robonyne, Zaporizhzhia region. They carried out air strikes near Vremivka and Staromayorske, Donetsk region, and Pyatykhatky, Zaporizhzhia region. Over 15 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson direction, Russia persists in attempting to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Three unsuccessful attempts to storm Ukrainian troop positions near the village of Krynky in the Kherson region were made during the day. Over 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

Strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Russian troops

During the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 9 concentrations of Russian personnel and an anti-aircraft missile system. 

Ukrainian missile troops destroyed 2 Russian ammunition depots, an artillery system and an anti-aircraft missile system.
