Ukrainian army manages to drive Russian troops out of two positions in Bakhmut direction — 92nd Brigade commander
Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of the Achilles battalion of the 92nd separate mechanized brigade, said that there is no Russian troops in Chasiv Yar, the town is fully controlled by the Ukrainian forces
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The fighting is quite intense. The settlements of Bohdanivka and Ivanivske are being shelled. It is important for the enemy to come out of Bohdanivka and semi-encircle Chasiv Yar and through Ivanivske to completely surround it if they manage to increase their success. In this way, the enemy is trying to take the town of Chasiv Yar in a vice grip and then push it into the main concentration area," explained Fedorenko.
According to the 92nd Brigade commander, there are currently no Russian forces in Chasiv Yar, the town is fully controlled by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
"There is a lot of speculation on the part of Russian propaganda, which periodically claims that they have completely taken Ivanivske or entered Chasiv Yar. But to tell you the truth, the frontline has not changed significantly. Dynamic work to repel enemy attacks continues. In some cases, the Defense Forces are making improvements along the front line. In particular, this week they managed to drive the enemy out of two positions and fully seize one of the forest strips. Currently, all positions from which we managed to drive the occupier out remain ours," emphasized Fedorenko.
- The Institute for the Study of War reports that the Russian occupying army persists in its attempts to seize Chasiv Yar. Capturing the town would enable Russia to launch further offensive operations against the towns that constitute a crucial defense belt in the Donetsk region.
- Over April 25, 93 combat clashes were registered on the frontline. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 23 attacks in the Avdiivka direction.
