Ukraine records 145 combat clashes in last day, repels most attacks near Pokrovsk and Toretsk

In the past day, 145 clashes occurred between the two armies, with Russian forces concentrating their attacks on the Pokrovsk and Toretsk directions

Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported the information.

According to updated information, Russia launched five missile attacks with eight missiles and 79 airstrikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements yesterday, dropping 106 guided bombs. Additionally, over 4,600 attacks were recorded, including 159 from MLRS.

Russian air strikes targeted 4 settlements in Sumy region; 4 settlements in Kharkiv region; 15 settlements in Donetsk region; 2 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region; 2 settlements in Kherson region.

Yesterday, Ukrainian aviation, missile troops and artillery conducted 17 strikes on concentrations of Russian troops and weapons. In addition, an artillery system, two air defense systems, three control points, four radars and two other important Russian facilities were destroyed.

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv direction, there were three battles near Lyptsi and Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops attacked 20 times. Ukrainian defense forces repelled assaults near Hlushkivka, Stelmakhivka, Kolesnykivka, Lozova and Synkivka.

In the Lyman direction, 20 firefights took place, in particular near Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Terny, Novosadove and Torske.

Two combat clashes took place in the Siversk direction. Ukrainian defenders rebuffed Russian assaults near Verkhniokamianske and Ivano-Dariivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, 14 battles took place near Hryhorivka, Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Stupochky and Predtechyno.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops attacked 24 times near Zalizne, Toretsk, Diliivka and Nelipivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders beat back 45 Russian assaults near Vozdvyzhenka, Kalynove, Zelene Pole, Myroliubivka, Hrodivka, Mykolaivka, Ptyche, Novohrodivka, Zavitne, Skuchne and Mykhailivka. The highest concentration of attacks was near Vozdvyzhenka and Novohrodivka.

In the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped nine Russian attacks near Paraskoviivka, Krasnohorivka and Kostiantynivka.

In the Vremivka direction, Russian troops attacked four times, in particular in the direction of Vodiane and Rozdolne.

In the Kherson direction, Russian troops made four assaults on Ukrainian troops' positions. They were unsuccessful.

The situation remained unchanged in the Huliaipole and Orikhiv directions.

On the state border with Belarus, no signs of Russian offensive groups were detected.

On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russian forces maintain a military presence, conducting mortar and artillery shelling of settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers are actively inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying Russian forces, exhausting them along the entire front line.

  • As of Monday, August 19, Russian losses in Ukraine reached 600,000. The Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated 1,120 Russian troops in the last 24 hours.
