Ukraine's Security Service announced that its Alpha special forces unit struck five Russian military airfields in 2025, inflicting over $1 billion in Russian losses

The Ukrainian Security Service reported the information.

"The enemy is accustomed to feeling safe in the deep rear. But for the special forces operators of Alpha of the Ukrainian Security Service, distance has long been irrelevant," the statement says.

According to the SBU, in 2025, five military airfields came under strikes by long-range drones. As a result of the attacks, the Russian side lost 15 units of aviation equipment. Specifically, confirmed hits include 11 fighter jets and bombers of the types Su-30SM, Su-34, Su-27, Su-24, and MiG-31, three helicopters Mi-28, Mi-26, and Mi-8, as well as one An-26 transport aircraft.

The SBU noted that along with the aviation equipment, ammunition and fuel depots at the airfields were destroyed. The Ukrainian Security Service estimated the total losses of the Russian side from these strikes at more than 1 billion U.S. dollars.
