Russia fires over 3,000 missiles, drops 67,000 bombs, launches 22,000 drones in three years of war
Since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Ukrainian military has downed over 2,496 Russian cruise missiles, 465 guided missiles, 97 ballistic missiles, 40 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles, and 17,575 Shahed drones
Ukraine’s Air Force reported the information.
"Over the course of three years of war and daily air defense battles, the Air Force has nearly depleted the missile resources of Soviet-era anti-aircraft missile systems," the statement noted.
As a result, the Ukrainian military is now relying on the support of its partners to supply additional air defense systems and missiles.
“The enemy continues to terrorize the Ukrainian people with airstrikes, and we need more protection for our country, our cities, and our children! We require greater protection for the stability of Europe and the entire civilized world,” the Air Force stated.
They also emphasized that, thanks to the support of Western partners, the Ukrainian military has been able to effectively counter the attacks of the "second-largest army in the world."
Since February 24, 2022, the Air Force, in collaboration with Ukraine's Air Defense Forces, has successfully downed:
- 2,496 cruise missiles
- 465 guided missiles
- 97 ballistic missiles
- 40 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aerial ballistic missiles
- 17,575 Shahed attack UAVs
The Air Force emphasized that the majority of these gains are attributed to the supply of modern anti-aircraft missile systems and missiles from international partners.
- On April 7, the Ukrainian Air Force successfully hit the control center of the 81st Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment of the Russian Army in the temporarily occupied Kherson region.
