Ukraine repels Russia’s first massive missile attack in 35 days with 100% success

This operation involved the launch of 29 cruise missiles, including Kh-101 and Kh-555 types, from 11 Tu-95MS strategic bombers.

The primary target of the onslaught was Kyiv. As the cruise missiles approached the capital around 5 a.m., Russian troops launched two ballistic missiles, purportedly from the Iskander system or the hypersonic Kh-47 Kinzhal. However, due to the efforts of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces, all missiles were successfully intercepted.

Nevertheless, some missiles were brought down within the city limits, causing ground damage. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported several high-rise buildings damaged, with shattered windows, a transformer substation catching fire, damage to several vehicles, and a private residence.

One of the warheads from the intercepted missiles landed between residential structures, creating a massive crater. At the time of reporting, 13 people were reported injured.

“This attack marked the first occurrence since February 15, when the enemy launched a similar assault on Ukraine using long-range missiles. During that incident, 26 missiles of various types were launched, with only half being successfully intercepted,” Defense Express emphasized.
