Ukraine gains ground near Kreminna: ISW assesses frontline situation
Ukrainian defenders made a small advance near Kreminna, Luhansk region. Russia still intends to capture Chasiv Yar
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported the information.
It noted that Ukrainian forces have recently made a small advance south of Kreminna. Geolocation footage released on May 23 shows that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are also making progress north of Bilohorivka, south of Kreminna.
At the same time, Russia is conducting assaults on 5 positions in the Luhansk region.
In addition, Russian troops advanced near Chasiv Yar, but there were no confirmed changes on the front line in this area. Fighting went on to the east of Chasiv Yar near Ivanivske and to the southeast near Klishchiivka.
In the Kharkiv region, Ukrainian forces recently retook marginal territory north of Kharkiv during Russian attacks in the area. The Ukrainian armed forces recently made some headway southeast of Lukianets, but Russian forces were launching ground attacks near Lyptsi.
Russia also attacks in and around Vovchansk, but there have been no confirmed changes on the frontline.
