Russian troops continue to storm Kharkiv region and suffer losses

This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on May 23.

It is noted that in the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian soldiers are repelling Russia's attack in the direction of Murom-Starytsia. The Ukrainian Armed Forces units are making every effort to strengthen their defenses. 

In the Kupyansk direction, since the beginning of the day, the invaders have made four attempts to advance in the areas of Stelmakhivka and Hrekivka - one attack was repelled, and three combat clashes are still ongoing. The situation is under control, Ukrainian forces are taking measures to strengthen the front line of defense positions, and in some areas, they are taking actions to improve the tactical situation.

The occupation forces lost more than 100 people in this area yesterday, Ukrainian troops damaged a Russian tank, destroyed two IFVs, two armored personnel carriers, 18 UAVs and two cars.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops repelled an attack near the village of Terny. 

In the Kramatorsk direction, fighting continues near Klishchiivka - the situation is under control.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian troops tried to break through the Ukrainian defense four times since the beginning of the day. Two attacks were rebuffed. Fighting continues in the area of Sokil. The situation is under control. According to updated data, Russian losses amounted to over 100 Russian servicemen and a Su-25 attack aircraft yesterday.

Two firefights continue in the Kurakhove direction in the areas of Krasnohorivka and Vodiane.

In the Vremivka direction, an attack near Staromayorske was successfully repelled. 

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, since the beginning of the day, there have been two attempts by the occupation army to force Ukrainian soldiers out of their positions near Krynky. One attack was repelled. The battle continues.

Within the last day, 143 combat clashes took place on the front

During the day, Russia launched six missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas using seven missiles, 49 air strikes (including 70 drones), more than a thousand kamikaze attacks, 4567 attacks from various types of weapons, including 164 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems. 

Since the beginning of the day, there have been 28 combat clashes. Russia launched five air strikes - dropping 13 KABs, using 33 kamikaze drones and firing 569 times at Ukrainian troops' positions.

Ukrainian Armed Forces hit four areas of Russian troops' concentration

Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Air Force, missile forces and artillery destroyed four areas of Russian personnel concentration, two control points, two guns, two UAV control stations, an electronic warfare station, a S-400 anti-aircraft missile system and a Su-25 aircraft.

• Over the past day, May 22, Ukrainian forces eliminated one Russian aircraft, 20 artillery systems and at least 1,330 Russian soldiers.
