Strikes hit Russian military bases, warehouses in Luhansk, Makiivka
On the evening of Sunday, August 4, strikes were reported on bases where Russian troops are stationed at industrial facilities in the temporarily occupied Luhansk and Makiivka
Journalist Denys Kazanskyi reported the information.
At 4:21 p.m., reports indicated a strike in Luhansk, accompanied by a photo showing a cloud of smoke.
"Thick black smoke is rising at the strike site in Luhansk. A strong fire has started. Secondary detonations are reported. It looks like a hit to the ammunition depot," Kazanskyi later wrote.
Later, he reported that in Makiivka, Donetsk region, a Russian base at one of the town’s industrial enterprises was also hit.
Artem Lysohor, head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, responded to reports about the strike in Luhansk, stating that the 100th Machine-Building Plant was on fire.
"This afternoon, according to the occupiers’ media, 12 explosions were heard in this city. They write about ‘combined explosions’, which is incomprehensible to the occupiers.
It was permitted to happen by the Russian air defense system, which only shoots down threats for TV stories and Telegram channels," wrote Lysohor.
He noted that Russian forces usually repair and store military equipment at the plant.
Denys Kazanskyi posted a video showing how far the smoke spreads after the plant was hit.
"There is a massive fire in Luhansk after the strike on the territory of the 100th machine-building plant. The entire horizon is covered with black smoke. The plant is home to the Russian military and their military depots," the journalist wrote.
