"Stopping Russia’s advance in Pokrovsk direction signals Ukraine seizing initiative" – NGU Reserve Major
Reserve Major of the National Guard of Ukraine and veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Oleksiy Hetman, believes that the front line in the Pokrovsk sector has stabilized
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
“We carried out four counteroffensive operations, or rather counterattacks, because calling it a counteroffensive would be an exaggeration. We regained several kilometers, but these were positions we had previously lost. Overall, we can say that the front line in the Pokrovsk sector has stabilized. No enemy advances have been observed,” he said.
Oleksiy Hetman noted that about a week ago, the intensity of hostilities in the Pokrovsk sector decreased by approximately a third.
“Now, the intensity has returned to the same level. There are even graphs showing the fluctuations in hostilities in the Pokrovsk sector, which may be of interest for future historical accounts or textbooks. So far, there has been no enemy advance in the Pokrovsk sector. Therefore, the halt in the enemy's progress in this direction can be considered as a shift in the initiative,” added the NGU reserve major.
- Since the beginning of March 16, there have been 64 combat clashes on the Russia-Ukraine front. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 10 Russian attacks in the Pokrovsk sector, with one battle still ongoing.
