Russian troops shell Kupyansk district 500 times daily - Kupyansk official
Andriy Kanashevych, head of the Kupyansk district military administration, highlighted that Russia's assault actions are continuous, particularly targeting the settlements of Synkivka, Ivanivka, Petropavlivka, and Berestove
He told this on Espreso TV channel.
"The situation has not changed in recent weeks and months. The enemy is constantly attacking, especially in the settlements of Synkivka, Ivanivka, Petropavlivka, Berestove. These assaults vary, maybe 5 per day, or up to 20 enemy attempts to attack. According to military sources, there has been a notable intensification of shelling, with over 500 attacks per day reported. Previously, this number was around 300 and had peaked at 400. That is, we can observe a certain increase in this tension, but nevertheless, all this is happening on the same combat lines," said the head of the Kupyansk district military administration.
According to him, the situation regarding Russia's advance does not change, the Ukrainian Armed Forces hold their positions despite the fact that there is an increase in shelling with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
"We also see that the invader is trying to hit critical infrastructure and logistics routes. We are restoring it to the best of our ability. However, as soon as we restore it, the enemy starts hitting the same places again. Overall, we can say that the situation remains unchanged, tense and under fire. Every day in Kupyansk we can hear the front line very well," summarized Andriy Kanashevych.
- On June 19, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Russia attacked Ukrainian positions in the Kupyansk sector 16 times. Near the settlements of Stepova Novoselivka, Synkivka, Stelmakhivka and Pishchane, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 15 assaults.
