
Russia's military airfields in Crimea targeted by massive drone strike
On the night of May 2, Crimea was hit by a massive drone attack. The sounds of explosions and the operation of Russian air defense were heard in cities where Russian military airfields are located
The Telegram channel Crimean Wind and the Russian head of Sevastopol, Mykhailo Razvozhaev, reported the information.
Razvozhaev declared an air raid alert, which lasted from 2:38 a.m. to 4:54 a.m.
Explosions were heard in Feodosia, Simferopol, Hvardiiske, Dzhankoi, Saky, and the Saky district, Novofedorivka, Virmensk, the Cape Tarkhankut area, Lukul, and the villages of Kutove and Chervone. Reports indicated an attack on Russian military airfields near Kacha, Belbek, Novofedorivka, and Hvardiiske. The results of the attack are still unknown.
At 2:59 a.m., Razvozhaev reported that Russian forces were repelling a combined attack on Sevastopol, assuring that no facilities in the city had allegedly been damaged at that time.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the alleged downing of 89 drones over Crimea and 23 UAVs in the Black Sea.
According to Ukrainian journalist Andriy Tsaplienko, Special Forces officers with the PRYMARY unit of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence destroyed several high-value Russian radars and air defense systems on the occupied peninsula, including S-300V SAM launchers, Obzor-3, Kasta-2E2, ST-68, and Imbir radars.
