Russia’s air defenses heavily concentrated in two areas — military expert
Vladyslav Seleznov, a military expert and reserve colonel with the Ukrainian Navy who served as spokesman for the General Staff from 2014 to 2017, pointed out that Russia's main priority is to protect Moscow, the surrounding region, and the temporarily occupied Crimea
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
“The biggest concentration of air and missile defense systems is in two main areas: Moscow and its surrounding region, and the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula,” the military expert said. “The enemy has poured huge resources into protecting the Kerch Bridge, which is covered by at least two Russian air defense brigades. Other military sites in Crimea are also heavily guarded.”
According to him, Russia is capable of quickly restoring its losses. When there are attacks in various parts of Crimea, and the destruction of Russian air defense elements is confirmed, Russian forces immediately work to replace what’s been lost, transporting the necessary equipment or weapons from other regions of Russia to Crimea.
“Although the Russians are currently bringing many air defense systems to Moscow from different parts of Russia, they are definitely not touching Crimea, as it remains a top priority for them,” commented Vladyslav Seleznov. “Therefore, the only way to weaken the air defense system in Crimea is to physically destroy it, which can be achieved through effective intelligence followed by the precise use of our firepower.”
