Russian troops will not be able to advance on Kharkiv through Kupyansk direction — Ukrainian serviceman Sazonov

Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Kyrylo Sazonov explained that the location and strong defense line in the Kupyansk sector do not allow the occupation forces to develop an offensive on Kharkiv

He told about this on the Espreso TV channel.

"The occupiers continue to storm Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi. However, we find it funny that they say they are about to launch an offensive. Because their offensive has already been going on since October last year. They are advancing on Synkivka and Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi. The Kupyansk and Lyman directions have been very active for six months now. However, they have not made any progress here. The terrain in this area is quite open. Therefore, it will be a gift for our artillery and drones if they launch a large-scale offensive," said Sazonov.

According to Sazonov, the Russian army will not be able to capture Kupyansk and then launch an offensive on Kharkiv from this direction.

"As for the statements about the capture of Kupyansk, from which they will move on to Kharkiv, we are responding adequately. We understand that such political statements are not justified. Some politicians should come here, see everything with their own eyes, and then make such statements. The terrain in our direction does not allow us to advance on Kharkiv. If the occupiers start attacking Kupyansk and then Kharkiv, they will simply leave all the personnel here and more. The defense line in the Kupyansk sector is more than 100 kilometers across open terrain," he added.
