Russian troops have not gained foothold near Chasiv Yar - military observer
Military observer Denys Popovych commented on the information that Russian troops managed to cross the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal near Chasiv Yar
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
“There is unofficial information that the Russians have managed to cross the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal near Chasiv Yar, but this has not been officially confirmed. As of yesterday, the Russians have not yet managed to gain a foothold, so the situation remains ongoing,” said Popovych.
According to the military observer, if Russian troops manage to gain a foothold, they will be able to develop an offensive from the northern part of Chasiv Yar.
“The Russians are trying to capture the city from the south and north and simultaneously attack it head-on from the Kanal neighborhood. Let's hope that the Russians will be knocked out. The place where the Siverskyi Donets canal runs underground was vulnerable. We see that the enemy managed to take advantage of it,” added Popovych.
- Over the last day, 149 combat clashes took place at the frontline. The situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains the most tense, Russia was also active in the Kurakhove and Toretsk directions.
