Russian troops change tactics near Toretsk: start digging tunnels to get behind Ukrainian positions
Military expert Ivan Stupak said that the Russian occupation forces have begun to equip tunnels in the Toretsk sector to reach the rear of Ukrainian positions
Military expert Ivan Stupak said that the Russian occupation army have begun to equip tunnels in the Toretsk sector to reach the rear of Ukrainian positions.
He told about this on Espreso TV.
"We should pay great attention to the change in Russian tactics in the Toretsk sector. This is already happening more often, not massively, but more often. The Russians have started digging and equipping tunnels in the direction of Toretsk. This is how they are trying to get to the rear of our positions. These tunnels are very similar to those built by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Russians used the same tactics in Avdiivka. There they used the sewage system and penetrated the rear of our positions," said Stupak.
According to the expert, these are not kilometers-long tunnels, but the threats are very serious.
"The Russians say that these are multi-kilometer tunnels. However, I do not believe it. Perhaps they are tens or hundreds of meters, but not multi-kilometer tunnels. However, the threat is very severe and we should pay attention to it," he added.
- On July 13, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that at least 149 military clashes took place between the two armies on the frontline over the past day. Occupying Russian forces are storming Ukrainian positions in 9 directions.
