Russian manpower losses reach record level in November - UK intelligence
In November 2024, the invading Russian army's average daily losses (killed and wounded) in the war in Ukraine reached a record level
The UK Defense Ministry reports.
The average daily casualty rate was 1,523, according to a report by the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff.
“This is the third straight month that Russian Forces have sustained new war high average daily losses,” the report says.
November was also likely the most expensive month of the war for Russia, with losses amounting to 45,680 people, according to the Ukrainian General Staff. In October 2024, 41,980 Russian casualties were recorded.
According to intelligence sources, the high level of casualties probably reflects the higher tempo of Russian operations and offensive actions. Russia is attempting to increase pressure on Ukrainian positions, seeking to push the Ukrainian Armed Forces back in several areas, including Kursk, Kupyansk, Toretsk, Pokrovsk, and Velyka Novosilka.
“Russia's casualty rate will likely continue to average above 1,000 a day in December 2024 despite the onset of winter, with continued dismounted infantry attacks on multiple axes,” the intelligence says.
