Russian Defense Ministry claims downing three Ukrainian missiles approaching Sevastopol
Russia claims to have activated air defense in Sevastopol. According to preliminary information, three missiles have been shot down off the western coast of the Crimean peninsula
The official Telegram channel of Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev, RaZVozhayev, reported the information.
Acсording to the report, an air raid alert was declared on the territory of the temporarily occupied Sevastopol around noon.
Later, reports emerged about smoke in the vicinity of Sevastopol Bay. The governor clarified that the military was employing service camouflage.
Subsequently, Razvozhayev reported that the Russian military was repelling Ukrainian attacks.
"According to preliminary information, air defense forces have already shot down an air target over the water area. All services are on alert. The Sevastopol rescue service has not yet recorded any damage to the infrastructure," he said.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that as of 2:00 pm Moscow time, two Ukrainian missiles were destroyed by air defense over the Black Sea off the western coast of the Crimean peninsula.
Half an hour later, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced the downing of another missile.
"Another Ukrainian missile was destroyed by regular air defense systems over the Black Sea off the western coast of the Crimean peninsula," the ministry said.
In addition, the correspondent of Krym.Realii reported that three explosions were heard in Sevastopol, they sounded around 1:38 pm Kyiv time.
According to the correspondent, the city is in air danger mode. The Kerch bridge is closed to traffic.
