He said this on the Espreso TV channel.

"The situation is difficult. The enemy has resumed offensive actions in the Kupyansk sector and intensified these actions. Now the Russians are trying to storm the positions of the Ukrainian army to find a weak point and reach the lines that their command has set for them. But for the most part, the enemy is failing. The enemy is losing manpower and equipment. The only thing they know how to do is to destroy. Destroy civilian and critical infrastructure and wreak terror on the civilian population," emphasized Besedin.

According to the head of Kupyansk city military administration, life in the Kupyansk region goes on. Kupyansk is alive despite the fact that it is 7 kilometers away from the front line.

"Life in Kupyansk district does not stop. Critical infrastructure is operating normally. There is electricity, gas, water, internet, mobile communication - everything is available. The social infrastructure is working. Speaking about Kupyansk, there is a transport connection to the regional center. People are being provided with humanitarian aid," added Besedin.

  • There were 122 combat clashes in the frontline over the last day. Ukrainian troops repelled Russian attacks in 7 sectors and eliminated 1120 soldiers.
  • On April 28, Russians shelled Kupyansk in Kharkiv region with a Grad multiple rocket launcher system. A private house was hit, there is a victim.
