Russia aims to advance towards Ukrainian logistics routes in Kursk region assault — military expert
Military expert Serhiy Zgurets noted that Russian troops are trying to create problems for the logistics of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kursk region
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
“Yesterday, Russian troops in the Kursk region launched an assault in three directions. In the direction of Orlovka, which is the northern outskirts of our foothold. There were also attacks on the right flank of the Ukrainian Defense Forces foothold. The most dangerous are the attacks of the Russian army using armored vehicles from Liubimovka to the road connecting Korenevo and Sudzha,” noted Zgurets.
According to the military expert, it is crucially important for Russia to create logistical problems for Ukrainian troops located in the north of the Kursk foothold. The efforts of the Ukrainian Defense Forces should be aimed at surrounding Russia's insertions from the flanks and cutting it off, if there are enough forces and means to do so. But the Russian forces will try to advance to the road to Sudzha. This is also one of the Russians' plans to create larger problems for the Ukrainian Armed Forces' logistics.
“Currently, the enemy has about 50,000 personnel concentrated there. All the enemy's efforts are aimed at ousting our units holding the bridgehead, which was originally 60 km wide and about 30 km deep. The balance of forces is now in favor of the enemy, as enemy airborne brigades and marine brigades, which are the largest operational reserve of the Russian Federation, have been deployed. The dynamics have again entered a new phase. The enemy will try to advance to the logistical routes important for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and our forces will counteract this and make this adversary's plan impossible,” Zgurets added.
