Russia deploys nuclear submarine cruiser: Defense Express analyzes Putin's latest threats
Defense Express military expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi stated that Putin is showing Trump he has no intention of negotiating with the U.S.
He shared his opinions on Espreso TV.
"I suggest we analyze the context in which Putin made threats yesterday, saying things like 'we will squeeze them, finish them off,' and so on. The Russians have launched another nuclear submarine cruiser of the 885 Yasen project. Firstly, this is a very complex submarine in terms of power, and it is bigger than the Moskva. It requires so much Western electronics that it’s not even worth counting – we’d lose track. Secondly, these are primarily threats to the West, as the Yasen-class submarine is designed to carry the hypersonic Zircon missiles," explained Kyrychevskyi.
According to the military expert, the focus should not be so much on Putin's threats to Ukraine, but rather on the fact that with this gesture, Putin is showing that he is not planning to negotiate with the U.S.
"On the contrary, Putin is trying to show the U.S. what he has in his arsenal, and, accordingly, he is ready to use it. This is all in the context of Donald Trump's current main issue in defense – how to create a 'golden dome' to protect the U.S. from missiles, including Russian ones, as the U.S. currently lacks reliable missile defense. In this context, Putin is making these threats regarding the frontline situation, which concerns us," Kyrychevskyi believes.
- Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine needs to introduce an interim government under the auspices of the United Nations and the United States.
