Russian reconnaissance drones are most active in skies over Ukraine - Air Force spokesman
Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Illia Yievlash says that in recent days there have been no Shaheds in Ukrainian airspace, but Russia is focusing on ballistic weapons and Kh-59 guided missiles
He spoke about this on Espreso TV.
"As for the main features of the enemy's actions in the airspace of Ukraine that we have been recording in recent days, for example, today, May 3, there was a rather rare occasion - the absolute absence of any missile or drone strikes. Of course, the enemy continues to constantly attack with guided aerial bombs, in particular, frontline cities. For the most part, we now see the absence of Shaheds in the airspace of our country. However, the enemy is focusing more on ballistic weapons and Kh-59 guided missiles, which it is actively trying to use from its aircraft," commented the spokesman.
According to him, the Russian army is also actively using unmanned aerial vehicles and reconnaissance drones. Most likely, this is how they adjust their missile strikes. Quite often these drones are spotted in the south, near Kherson, in Zaporizhzhia region, and near Kharkiv.
"In addition, the invader is no longer using the A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft for reconnaissance, but Su-24MR, which often appear near the border in the airspace of the Russian Federation. However, the main activity of these aircraft is aimed at detecting our air defense systems, and the Su-24MR also collects other information about our troops. From what we have seen in recent days, there have been absolutely cynical strikes on Odesa with ballistic weapons, Iskander-M with a cluster warhead, which resulted in deaths and injuries. Of course, this is a violation of all norms and conventions, and it should have consequences for Putin and the aggressor country in an international court, in particular in The Hague," emphasized Illia Yievlash.
- On April 30, several explosions occurred in Odesa. Russians hit the city with ballistic missiles, killing three people and injuring three others.
- On May 3, the Russian army launched a missile attack on Kropyvnytskyi, injuring a man and damaging infrastructure.
