Partisans spy on key Russian Black Sea Fleet command center in Novorossiysk
Partisans with the Atesh movement conducted reconnaissance of Russia's 37th Special Communications Node in Novorossiysk, which handles Black Sea Fleet command and control from Moscow
The Atesh partisan movement reported the information.
According to the movement, it is through this facility that the Black Sea Fleet receives key orders directly from Moscow and coordinates actions with other branches of the military. Atesh calls the node the "nerve center" of fleet command.
The partisans also recorded the arrival of high-ranking military leadership from Moscow at the facility. The movement suggests this concerns an inspection related to the Russian General Staff's dissatisfaction with the current Black Sea Fleet commander, Admiral Pinchuk. Such visits, according to Atesh, may precede personnel decisions.
Additionally, Atesh reports a significant strengthening of the special communications node's defenses. They documented the deployment of additional electronic warfare systems, short-range air defense systems, engineering barriers, as well as an increase in the number of security personnel.
The partisans also recorded heightened activity among the unit's personnel: movement of key specialists, changes in the node's leadership, work by special communications repair crews, and the involvement of civilian cryptographic equipment specialists.
"If this unit goes out of action or loses stability, the Black Sea Fleet will instantly lose the ability to properly receive orders from Moscow and coordinate with other forces. From a unified force, it will turn into a set of scattered units," Atesh concluded.
On December 15, Ukraine's Sub Sea Baby underwater drones took out a Russian Kilo-class submarine, leaving it critically damaged and completely out of action.
