Ukraine’s intel reveals what propaganda events Russia plans worldwide for May 9
On the eve of the so-called Victory Day on May 9, Russia is stepping up its network of agents in Europe and the United States. In the capitals of many countries around the world, propagandists have planned a series of informational and propaganda events
The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine reported the information.
For example, in Prague, two events are planned for May 7 and 8, 2025: a rally called For the Restoration of Relations with the Russian Federation and another titled 80th Anniversary of Liberation from Fascism. We Cannot Have Peace. These events are organized by the anti-government, pro-Russian movement Ne zakladnam CR. On May 9, members of this group plan to march through central Prague, allegedly to honor World War II victims. Meanwhile, Czech communists are organizing other events across the country to glorify the Red Army.
In Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, representatives of the organization Russian House plan to hold a propaganda event called St. George's Ribbon on May 9.
On May 6 in Brussels, Russian House also plans to host a roundtable titled: On the struggle that, in solidarity and together with the peoples of Russia and other USSR republics, Belgians, Dutch, and Luxembourgers waged against the brown plague of the 20th century.
In addition, Russians are planning a theatrical reenactment of 1945 events in London and an event called Wall of Memory in Warsaw.
In Bucharest, the Russian embassy plans to hold a flower-laying ceremony at the Unknown Soldier monument, using the public event to deliver propaganda speeches. In addition, Russians in Romania are trying to involve a broad audience—including children—in the Decorate Your Windows with Victory Symbols campaign. As part of this information push, Soviet and Russian symbols are being circulated on social media.
On May 11 in Verona, Italy, Russian House intends to organize an international forum titled Memory of the Victors.
Across most European countries, a pro-Russian event called the European Peace Project is also scheduled for May 9, 2025.
At the same time, in Toronto, Montreal, and other major Canadian cities, Russian influence agents operating under the public organization Immortal Regiment plan to hold car and motorcycle parades featuring Soviet-Russian symbols. They also intend to organize themed concerts, workshops on making paper carnation bouquets, screenings of Soviet-era cartoons and films, and participate in a musical Immortal Regiment event produced by the Russia-1 TV channel.
Similar Immortal Regiment propaganda marches are planned in the suburbs of Washington (USA), Munich (Germany), Toronto (Canada), Belgrade (Serbia), Naples and Genoa (Italy), and other cities.
"The aggressor state Russia falsifies history, distorts facts about World War II, creates and exploits myths about the 'victory over fascism' in order to justify its criminal war against Ukraine and to spread its own malignant influence in the world," the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine reminded.
- Russian special services are preparing provocations against the civilian population by May 9 in order to blame resistance movements for them.
