November and December set records for Russian losses in Ukraine — Zelenskyy
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that in both November and December, the Russian army suffered record-high troop losses in the war against Ukraine
He wrote this on Telegram.
The President received a report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, who briefed him on the situation at the front, particularly in the Donetsk region, where, according to Zelenskyy, the situation is most challenging.
"The fiercest battles are in Donetsk, specifically in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions. Intense fighting continues. The Russian army, as in November, is now suffering record losses in December during battles and assaults. These months — November and December — mark record Russian losses," the President wrote.
He also shared details of the overnight attack on Russia, thanking Ukrainian forces for conducting "significant strikes." Military targets and facilities of the fuel and energy sector supporting aggression against Ukraine were hit.
Syrskyi also reported on the situation in the areas of the Kursk operation: "We are doing our utmost to diminish Russia's military potential — this is our primary goal right now."
- Over the past 24 hours, the Russian army lost at least 1,400 troops in the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed a number of Russian vehicles.
