North Korean military presence in Donetsk region linked to poor weapons quality

"The presence of the DPRK military in the Donetsk region is mainly related to small numbers of engineer troops and is due to the fact that a large amount of ammunition from the DPRK is of poor quality," Kovalenko said.
According to him, these North Korean military personnel accompany batches of ammunition, monitor their condition, and record any defects.
According to the CPD, the Russian Federation is becoming increasingly dependent on imports of ammunition from the DPRK for various types of weapons. The quality of these supplies raises serious concerns. In particular, the quality of KN-23 ballistic missiles is of poor quality.
- On October 4, the Kyiv Post reported that a missile strike on the occupied territory of Donetsk region killed 20 soldiers. Among them, in particular, were six soldiers from the DPRK who were consulting with the Russian army.
