Kurakhove Reservoir dam destruction threatens Ukrainian logistics — national security expert
Ivan Varchenko, a national security expert, noted that after Russian troops blew up the Kurakhove Reservoir dam, flooding is affecting the rear areas of Ukrainian troops
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The Kurakhove dam does not pose the same threats and challenges as the Kakhovka dam on the Dnipro River. The issue here is flooding in the Vovcha River basin, which could significantly impact Ukrainian logistics. This flooding is affecting the rear areas of Ukrainian troops, and the new circumstances will need to be taken into account," Varchenko noted.
According to the national security expert, Ukrainian engineering units will be able to quickly restore logistical routes. The main highway is functioning, and there are opportunities to use it, as well as backup and auxiliary supply routes for the Ukrainian Armed Forces defending the Kurakhove direction.
“The Russians managed to destroy another dam in Ukraine, inflicting an indiscriminate strike that harms civilians and leads to catastrophic consequences for nature, flora, and fauna. This is a crime for which they will be held accountable,” emphasized Varchenko.
